I’m sorry I missed our innagural session held last week as I’ve been out working with USAID’s Development Innovations project in Cambodia that focuses on empowering civil society and local techies to effectively apply technology to address development challenges.
This morning I presented the 9 Principles to a group of 32 NGOs and CSOs at our Lab in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. I used a presentation that we’ve developed at DAI to use with our own staff and it went fantastically. For the most part, people understood the principles and the weight they carry with 14 donors behind them. There were even organizations that at the end of the talk identified and shared areas of their own work where they should be applying the Principles!
I hope that in addition to our DC-based initiatives, we can consider all making a pledge at a personal level as well as organizational to leverage opportunities to share the Principles with those in other countries when we travel for work. Perhaps we can add this to the agenda for our next working group.
