Girls privacy, security and safety principles and guidelines

Hi all,

I wanted to share something that I’ve been working over the past couple of years for Girl Effect. I don’t have the official link yet so here’s the google doc and the hard copy below.

We’re publishing it as a creative commons document in case other people want to build on it/adapt it for their own purposes/organizational mandates. Let me know if you want the word doc version for that purpose.

We’re interested in feedback on whether it’s useful — it’s mostly aimed at people who are designing and implementing so it’s quite detailed. Our team has been using it for about a year now and adapting/updating based on things we’re experiencing and areas where we felt we needed the most guidance based on the programs/initiatives we’re working on. But it’s one of those, ahem, living documents https://stuffexpataidworkerslike.com/2011/06/15/toonseawl-living-documents/, so comments and input are most welcome!

It has been a really interesting process, with tons of buy-in from the team and the wider organization, and that’s been one of the best things about working on it – process is often as or more important than product.

All the best,

Linda
